Tariff Tip:FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensors disc and New FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus
FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensors were added to the Drug Tariff and DND in late 2020 with FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus added to Part IXA in February 2025. The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus is also included in the Drugs for which Discount is Not Deducted (DND) (Part II of the Drug Tariff).
FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors will now be discontinue and have been deleted out of the Drug Tariffs. Libre 2 Plus and Freestyle Libre 3 Plus sensors will continue to be reimbursed.
Abbott Labs are advise patients who are using the FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensors to have their scripts changed to the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor as soon as possible as these are compatible with the current Libre 2 reader and LibreLink app
