From 7 January 2026, changes to the Human Medicines Regulations will allow trained and authorised pharmacy team members to hand out certain pre-checked and bagged medicines, even when the pharmacist is temporarily absent or not interruptible.

To support our members, we’ve produced practical resources including a risk assessment template, updated SOP, staff briefing sheet, and supervision log.
