Community pharmacies across Wales are being encouraged to take part in the Workforce Incentive Scheme, part of the Community Pharmacy Contractor Framework delivered by Community Pharmacy Wales (CPW).
The scheme is designed to support the future development of the pharmacy workforce and includes two key elements aimed at strengthening the role of pharmacy technicians in community pharmacy teams.
Firstly, pharmacies are asked to complete a short survey to help identify the barriers that may prevent employers from recruiting registered pharmacy technicians. The feedback gathered will help inform future workforce planning and ensure that community pharmacies receive the right support to expand their teams.
Secondly, the scheme includes funding to support pharmacy technician training, helping contractors develop skilled team members and strengthen capacity within community pharmacy.
Pharmacies that complete the survey by 31 March will be eligible for a £150 payment. To receive the payment, contractors must also complete a NECAF declaration confirming that the survey has been submitted.
The survey takes only a short time to complete and will help shape the future workforce support available to community pharmacies across Wales.
